Summer Art Camps: Outside the Box!

The time has come to explore every corner of art land. Join us this summer at Bad Dog Arts to think outside the box and create wonderful one-of-a-kind art pieces. Campers will leave no paint bucket unturned using materials and tools found inside and outside the art box. Challenge your inner artist while you design and create large-scale sculptures, wearable art pieces and art from around the world. We will also explore the world of LEGO using our critical thinking skills to build bridges, pendulums and other fun objects. From cooking tasty dishes to shining under the lights of a theater camp, we will explore everything the arts have to offer.

This week we will explore art (AM) and engineering (PM) through LEGO! Each morning students will create artwork learning 2D and 3D design concepts playing with color and shape with a variety of media and materials. Then switch gears in the afternoon to ratchet up your imagination with tens of thousands of LEGO! Design and build as never before, and explore your craziest ideas in a supportive environment. Kids will work individually and in small groups to build engineering projects such as trains, helicopters, beam bridges and more. We will follow in the footsteps of master artists with LEGO interpretations of sculptures, brick modeling, and pixel art.

Explore engineering and art through LEGO! Each morning power up your engineering skills with Play-Well TEKnologies and tens of thousands of LEGO! Apply real-world concepts in physics, engineering, and architecture through engineer-designed projects such as gear cars, gondolas, merry-go round and scissor lifts. We will additionally explore LEGO art with pixel creations, sculptures, and brick modeling. Teamwork and creativity let LEGO builders take this class to the next level! In the afternoon kids will learn how art intersects with LEGO design through arts learning concepts such as symmetry, perspective, balance and composition. Projects may include collage, pixel art and mosaics.
