‘Queens of Music’ will be celebrated, onstage and in murals, at The Gateway for International Women’s Day

Live music and artistic celebrations of “Queens of Music” are part of a celebration of International Women’s Day, set for Saturday, March 7, at The Gateway in downtown Salt Lake City. The Queens of Music Festival starts at 2 p.m., at The Gateway, 50 S. Rio Grande St., Salt Lake City.
From 2 to 7 p.m., the event will feature live music: singer Jazzy Olivo at 2:30 p.m., hip-hop artist Mana at 3:30 p.m., guitar duo First Daze at 4:30, and soul/funk/rock musician Talia Keys at 5:30 p.m. KRCL hosts Eugenie Hero Jaffe and Lara Jones will be emcees.
At the same time, eight commission artists will paint murals live to pay homage to “queens” of different musical genres. The murals will be completed on 8-foot cubes to be located in The Gateway and, potentially, other locations around downtown Salt Lake City.
