SALT LAKE CITY SAYS GOODBYE TO 2017 WITH ‘LAST HURRAH’ PARTY AT THE GATEWAY

Salt Lake City toasted the end of 2017 at a not-so-secret speakeasy and planned to usher in 2018 with fireworks Sunday.

A couple swayed and sang along to a group playing Billy Joel’s “Piano Man” (sans piano) on a “Rock Band” video game. Kids — and playful adults — entertained themselves with giant checkers, giant Lite Bright, a photo booth and other indoor games at The Gateway’s Last Hurrah celebration. Outside, people chatted with friends, danced to the live music and ate food-truck fare.
