DESCRIPTION:Discovery Gateway Children’s Museum is celebrating World Bee Day and our integrating community by creating with our local artist – Mariam Gutierrez \nKids of all ages are invited. Your creation will be contributed to decorate our mural\, you may bring your finished piece home\, too! \nWe welcome all locally collected materials (we will be using acorns\, leaves\, and twigs to create) \nThis session will be held at the Art Studio on the 2nd floor of Discovery Gateway Children’s Museum \nArtist Profile – About Mariam:\nMariam was born in Central Valley\, CA\, her artistic endeavors really took flight when she moved to Rose Park at the age of 15. Being surrounded by mountains\, wildlife\, and the change of seasons really sparked an interest in documenting these scenes on paper and eventually on walls. Fast forward 10 years\, Miriam is a full-time artist\, primarily focused on mural work\, line illustration\, and pyrography. Her work is found all around the Salt Lake Valley both as an individual artist and in collaborations. Themes such as realism\, nature\, storytelling\, and identity are deeply rooted in her work when you consider that she is one of the few Latina women in the mural scene in Utah.\nMariam’s Personal Site: https://artbymerm.com/
